An ongoing photography goal of mine is to stay involved with organizations doing good around the world. This year I’ve been fortunate to have participated with Outside the Lens, teaching a couple different photography classes to kids around San Diego. I also recently had the opportunity to partner with United Way to photograph some kids who have participated in their “Kids and Money” program. It was pretty sweet to see how Hollis Brand Culture put my images on a larger than life scale in order to highlight this program and all the amazing kids involved.
My favorite part of any photography shoot is capturing the beauty of people as I learn their stories. I was blown away by the determination of these kids to be students of life (and more languages than I’ll ever speak in a lifetime) and give back to the world with their respective talents and strengths. This project was definitely near the top of the list for 2010.
