Brother and Sister.
Only one white backdrop could handle all this cuteness, and yes, this was mostly supposed to be a newborn shoot. Ha!
As seen here previously.

Family Photo Shoot: Normal Heights San Diego
I have traveled much life with these people, especially the pregnant one . . . all the way from junior high band, to college basketball teammates, to a 1,300 mile move to a “quaint” (small, yet charming) San Diego apartment together. A few years after our move, Erin needed to buy a couch and Andy happened to own a pickup truck . . . you know what comes after helping someone purchase and transport a couch. That’s right, babies. [also: dating, engagement, wedding, et al.] Of course the maternity shoot you see below turned into a toddler photo shoot, because, I mean, look at the adorable three-year-old-going-on-teenager. You may want to scroll down to the very last image if you want to have the best smile of your day.

Cristy + Jake Gender Reveal
The day Jake and Cristy were finding out the sex of their baby, she asked if I could meet up and take a few quick shots for a “gender reveal” she wanted to do. Rite Aid ice cream you say? I’ll be right there. Oh, and by the way, Cristy, who also happens to be the owner of Buds and Blooms, did the flowers for our wedding. I’d give her six stars out of five if I could. If you need floral arrangements for ANY occasion, go. to. her.

KOPP FAMILY IN CORONADO
Three generations. An engagement. Charlie’s Angels. Grandparents. A baby in a suitcase. Lots of laughing. And a sunny beach on December 23rd. Awesomeness.

AN A-TYPICAL NEWBORN SHOOT
Normally when I ask parents of newborn babies where they want to do the photo shoot, I assume they’ll say, with a that teensy edge of sleep deprivation reserved primarily for prisoners of war and parents of newborns: IN. OUR. HOUSE. This is understandable. However, when I asked Joe and Benita where they wanted to meet, they were so open I could have possibly suggested the leopard enclosure at the World Famous San Diego Zoo and they would have trusted me implicitly. I decided to take it down a notch and meet them (to start) in a Kensington alley. Not surprisingly, Kensington holds some of the best alleyways in all of San Diego.

The Kelly Family Extended
To celebrate the upcoming (now past tense) birth of baby Caitlyn Rose, and because the entire family was in town from all over the United States, I was honored to do a little extended family shoot on the beach for the Kellys . . .

Sarah + Travis + Owen
It was so fun to take maternity photos of Sarah and Travis 1. because I’ve known Sarah since high school and for years she has remained one of my most sarcastic (in a good way!) encouraging friends, even with thousand of miles between us, and 2. because who doesn’t like taking a pregnant lady, her husband, and unborn child down a bunch of dirty alleyways in Oregon to take pictures? I know I do. (Plus, Sarah’s an ER nurse, so I figured we’d be okay.)

The Jackson 3
The Jacksons, a more recent addition to my repertoire of favorite people, just created a new addition of their own. One of the things I love most about these two is their ability to bring laughter wherever they go. You can tell by the shot where I jokingly told them to be stoic, it’s near impossible for Kate to do so. I can only imagine how much more crazy fun this house will get in a couple years. Until then, enjoy some black and whites of the first few days . . .

Happy Valentine’s Day
Happy Valentine’s Day to all . . . maybe so happy you land yourself with one of these in nine months! I’ve been looking through the archives and finding all these squishy little cheeks were hiding where no one could find them, so what better day than the Day o’ Love to highlight some of my favorite newborn shots?
