Katie Gardner is a Southern California-based photographer and videographer. She produces unique visual stories through still and motion photography. She loves humor and underdogs and creating imagery that shows the most unguarded version of who (or what) ever is in front of her camera. Her laidback colorful style lends itself to easy-going shoots where experimental ideas often prompt fun and unexpected results. She collaborates with individuals and brands to bring creative visions to life and strives to produce beautiful, timeless work.

Her portfolio spans across brand marketing campaigns, commercial advertising, and editorial stories.

As a point of dedication, she will never give up on the Oxford Comma.

FAQ

What are your rates?

Commercial and editorial rates are estimated per project, lifestyle shoots start at $1500, headshots start at $175 per image, and events are priced at $400 per hour. Please contact me for a custom quote.

Who holds the copyright to images?

Katie Gardner owns the copyright on all image work and usage licensing fees may be be charged depending on where the final product will be used.

Usage Defined

A usage license states how images can be used, where images can be used and for how long images can be used. For example, usage fees will increase if images are being used for advertising as opposed to strictly website and social media.

How big is your team?

I am lucky enough to know the best of the best in this industry. From art directors, DPs, producers, gaffers, stylists, digi-techs, assistants, drone operators, editors, and beyond, we work to meet the needs of production both large and small.

What equipment do you use?

My standard kit includes a Canon mirrorless system, Profoto strobe lighting, Aputure continuous lighting, Macbook Pro M2 Max with BenQ Monitor, and Zoom H4N Pro + RODE sound recording. I am also proficient in RED Cinema and Sony Mirrorless. My favorite travel backpack is the WANDRD Prvke (not sure why they don't like vowels), otherwise all my gear is protected by Pelican Air cases. Kodak Portra 800 is my favorite film stock and my current favorite film camera is the Nikon 35Ti point and shoot. This changes depending on how well a roll of film develops one day to the next, and if I'm trying to save money on film photos I'll shoot on my Fujifilm x100f.
